Mr. Herden brings 20 years of various martial arts experience. He began training in Taekwondo in 1989 under Tammy Lamberson and received his 1st Dan in 1991, 2nd Dan in 1993, 3rd Dan in 1997 and 4th Dan in 2003. During that time he was active on the tournament circuit at the regional, national, and world level. In 1996 he won 2nd in World forms and 3rd in sparring for the open black belt division ages 17 and under.
In addition to Taekwondo, Mr. Herden has trained in other styles of martial arts. In 1999 he lived in Germany where he trained in full-contact karate under Christian Meyerhoffer, a former Eurokumite heavyweight champion. In 2000 he began training in Judo under, then 6th Dan, Albert Demers. Later he earned his 1st Dan in 2006. Mr. Herden is also ranked in Goshinkan Jujutsu and Aikido.
Currently, Mr. Herden resides in Lewisville, TX with his wife Amber and daughter Aubrey. He holds dual BBAs in International Business Management and Corporate Finance from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and an MBA from the same institution. During the day he works as a Senior Financial Analyst at Essilor of America, Inc.
